Camp X Habits X Our end
on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 5:25 PM

Hello, been about a week or more since I last blogged. Right?
Anyway, it's been a hectic and a  rough week for me.

Allow me to start of with...
I guess I don't have anywhere else to turn to but this. I can't even face anyone and talk to them about it without breaking down in tears. Even my laptop is a non-living object, just pouring everything here can bring me to tears. But well, a girl's gotta learn what she has to learn.

Before I jump to whatever major happened to me, I want to share about my journey to Kota Tinggi. Actually it was a Leadership camp yea? Honestly, I had so much thoughts about going for it. Like I didn't want to go. But something about it made me go in the end. I pretty much enjoyed myself so much there except the fact I got injured and sick on the last day blah blah blah...

But still I learnt quite a few important lessons and I thought maybe I'll like to share to whoever who sees this. I paid $200 plus to attend this camp and I'm giving some important tips for free okay. :)
Here are the more important ones to me.

Begin with an end in mind.
Imagine that you're given a jigsaw puzzle you have never tried before. Now try doing it and that you have no idea what the picture is. Difficult right? Okay now imagine I give you the picture of an apple. Won't it be simpler for you to complete the puzzle now?
Although this analogy sounds like no kick to you. But in life, your goal isn't just an apple. It is something bigger, it is what you want to work for. It is also something that you can't picture it properly in the end. This is when you have to be really committed and no what you want.
Because when you know what to work for, you will do it.

Think win-win.
In our daily lives, it is either you win I lose, or I win you lose. There may be cases whereby we both lose together. Those kinds where someone says "If I can't have it, you can't have it either." That's psychopathic. There are very few cases where people will think "why not let's all win together?" In the case of think win-win, everyone has to strive for mutual agreements and an alternative way to do things that benefits everyone equally.

Seek first to understand, then be understood.
This may sound pretty simple but I tell you it is not. In order to be understood, you have to truly understand people first. Like really understand what they are trying to mean and their message to you. To me it wasn't simple doing it.

Synergise.
Which is to work together as a team. Combine everyone's positive strengths to achieve a common goal that cannot be attained by someone alone. Constant contribution of meaningful opinions, inspirations and supportive leadership are essential to achieve this.

I'm not being selfish by not sharing the rest with everyone but I believe this 4 points here are relatively important for an effective leader. Once this 4 are completed, you have naturally went through the other 3 points of being an effective leader.

Sounds like all in a day's work huh?
I really have to credit Sean Covey for these 7 Habits he created. It really inspired me so much and in many ways.
And also throughout the camp, I made a few friends that I am very thankful for being there for me. Even up to now, they are still around. Very blessed to have these people around me.

Okay. Here goes the rough part of this week.

I know that we have almost reached our 10th month mark. But not quite successfully passed it.
And that because as long as one side stops cooperating, the other side falls too.
I won't say it is all because its his fault. We are both at fault. Or maybe it should be my fault all along.
He is a very very nice guy, and in fact a treasure to me.
I believe I won't be able to find a nicer guy than he was.
I guess there's nothing left for us anymore.

Just know that, I miss you.

xoxo
